Toowoomba Back on Track
Presented by Tania Kernaghan at the 2011 Royal Toowoomba Show
This production came about after the inland Tsunami struck Toowoomba in January 2011. Originally the Ozworks production "Local Heroes" was planned to be the feature presentation at the 2011 Toowoomba Show. As you may have read on the other pages "Local Heroes" is a large scale theatrical Tribute to the Men and Woman who make up the Emergency Services. For more info click HERE.
Suddenly all the people that we needed to
participate in the Arena Spectacular were stretched
to the limit, rescuing people from roof tops, protecting
and rebuilding property and tragically looking for missing
persons. Some of which they are still searching
for.
Toowoomba Back on Track is a concert version of 8 of Tania Kernaghan's songs. Each song is theatrically fleshed out to fill the arena with local Toowoomba performers.
Over 150 families that have been directly effected by the recent floods have been invited to attend the Toowoomba Show free of charge, their children given free rides, free show bags free food and drinks as well as VIP seating to the evening entertainment feature.
As intended we are paying tribute to the above mentioned Local Heroes who are still grieving for the loss of people they have been unable to find. The volunteer emergency service men and women have been invited to participate in a "Parade of Honor" within the Toowoomba Back on Track Arena Production so that thousands of grateful Toowoomba residents can acknowledge their appreciation.
Toowoomba Back on Track presented by Tania Kernaghan will be performed in the Main Arena each night of the Toowoomba Show from the 31st March to the 2nd April 2011.
