Ozworks News
Well Farewell 2010 and hello 2011. For most Australians the beginning of 2011 will be remembered with sadness and loss. The floods that have devastated Queensland, some parts of NSW and now Victoria will be remembered for a very long time.
My thoughts go out to all people affected by the devastation and in my own way I'll be doing what I can to support the victims through the entertainment I produce.

Ozworks to create 13 shows for new theme park in Vietnam
13 Jul 11
In April this year I received an e-mail that was short, to the point and sweet.
Hi Mark
You still in Show Biz?
Steve
That was it. 5 days later I was on a plane heading for Kuala Lumper and working in the Head Design Office of the Sanderson Group fleshing out 13 new shows and attractions for "Happy Land". "Happy Land" is a Movie Theme Park similar to Warner Bros Movie World on the Gold Coast and is to be built 1 hour from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
That design office was the most creative and exciting environment I've ever worked in! It's a very interesting project as it's the first western themed park ever built in Vietnam and the people of Vietnam can't wait for it to open. This kind of opportunity doesn't come around that often and everyone involved on the project is pumped. Not only is the Sanderson Group building the park, producing all the shows and attractions with the help of Ozworks Creative and Entertainment but it's also going to manage the park once it's opened to the GP.
Development of the Movie Themed park is moving at a hectic pace right now with construction beginning in November 2011 and completion by mid 2013.
Gold Coast SUNS Home Game Entertainment
13 Jul 11
2011 is an exciting year for AFL. With the inclusion of the 17th licenced AFL team, The Gold Coast SUNS and the construction of a new AFL football stadium on the Gold Coast. The empire grows.
We are happy to say that Ozworks has been given the responsibility of providing home ground entertainment through SUNS Management for the 2011 season. We are growing the list of sporting events that require on-site creative management of entertainers. We also create entertainment that specifically suits each event. At the SUNS games we have created a Caribbean Steel Band that can play the clubs theme song on the steel drums. Dressed in team colours complete with SUNS hats, dreadlocks and scarfs. Unique, entertaining and a point of difference than the standard roving entertainers.
Catch them at a SUNS home game in 2011.
Minister attends hero tribute
01 Apr 11
Last night the Minister of Police, Corrective Services and Emergency Services Neil Roberts MP attended the first performance of "Toowoomba Back on Track" presented by Tania Kernaghan. After a brief scare with rain all 200 + performers were able to perform their tribute to the men and woman in the Toowoomba Community who volunteer to protect property and save lives. A "Parade of Honor" took place within the performance which featured over 50 men and women in their emergency services uniforms. The moment they appeared on the arena the audience stood and applauded to show their appreciation. The applause lasted the for the entire song that Tania Kernaghan was singing at the time.
Toowoomba Back on Track will be performed in the Main Arena at the Toowoomba Show Grounds tonight and tomorrow night at 7:15pm.

Toowoomba Back On Track
02 Feb 11

Tania Kernaghan will perform for the families in Toowoomba that have been devastated by the recent inland Tsunami.
The Ozworks planned production of Local Heroes that was to feature as the 2011 Heritage Toowoomba Royal Show from March 31 to April 2 has been postponed due to the recent flood devastation. As you may have read on the Local Heroes page under Arena Spectaculars, that production is all about acknowledging the men and women who make up our emergency services.
Unfortunately at this time they are still working hard to restore Toowoomba to it's prior glory, cleaning up the mess and God knows what else. Just not the right time to ask them to come and let us make a fuss over them.
So Tania will do it for us. We will still acknowledge the emergency services within the show we are calling, "Tania Kernaghan presents Toowoomba Back on Track" All the families that have been effected by the flood will be invited to attend a day at the Toowoomba Show at no cost. Free rides all day for their children, free show bag, we'll feed and water them and give them VIP seating for the evening entertainment program followed by Fireworks.
This event is not a fund raiser, we feel that people have doug deep already as best they can. AND NOW IT'S CAIRNS! There's a limit as to what people can give financially. So this is all about giving back to the people, give them a great day out at the show at no cost.
Tania Kernaghan presents TOOWOOMBA BACK ON TRACK will be performed in the main arena each night of the show at 7:15pm.
