The Journey Ahead
14 Year old Gold Coast teenager Lauryn Clare is about to be launched onto the world stage when she represents Australia at the 2008 Nile International Song Festival in Cairo Egypt.
The Song Festival will be held at the Cairo International Conference Centre and attract rising stars from around 20 countries including Canada, Germany, France, UK, Sweden, Romania and others.
Lauryn will compete in the 14 – 16yo category for generous cash prizes in writing, singing and composing.
Only one person in each age group are chosen from each country and at the time Lauryn was approached an Australian representative had already been earmarked to make the trip. It was by chance that a local talent scout for the Cairo competition happened to see some young children looking at one of Lauryn’s self produced EPs and inquired as to the content. Once she heard Lauryn sing there was no question as to who should go to Cairo representing Australia in January 2008.
An excited Lauryn says, “It all has happened so fast! I can’t believe that I’ll be representing Australia with what I love to do and that’s singing.”
As part of the schedule competition entrants will be performing to a number of charity concerts and exhibitions promoting community cooperation and the building of World Peace.
The 10 day event is hosted by Egypt’s First Lady Susan Mubarak. The Festival Secretary General is Dr Refaai Magdy. The Festival is coordinated by the Egyptian Society of Children’s Culture and Arts.
Lauryn Clare is destined to achieve great things within her singing career and already at the tender age of 14 has an impressive resume` of concerts, live shows guest performances.
Her advanced maturity, respect for others and professional attitude towards her craft will ensure an adventurous and memorable journey.
Leading up to her departure to Cairo in January 2008 Lauryn’s management are seeking opportunities to promote her trip and help launch her as a merging Australian Artist.
Lauryn writes her own music and is willing to perform her latest song “DAZZLE” live to concert, radio and TV options.
