Ozworks was a title that I thought up back in 1988 when I was working, or trying to, as an actor in Sydney Australia. While as a young actor sitting around waiting for the phone to ring to inform me that I nearly got an acting role, a few friends and I would workshop up and coming Australian playwrights at the Harold Park Hotel on a Wednesday night. We called ourselves "Ozworks in the Park". We thought ourselves pretty artsy and loved our play on words title. Ozworks - Works of Australia / in the park - Harold Park Hotel. Thinking about it now some 19 years later I can't remember quite why we thought it was so good....anyway!
That didn't last very long. When you're trying to launch your acting career it's certainly true to say that life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans. Suddenly I found myself living on the Gold Coast and working for Warner Bros Movie World as an actor / stunt performer.

I was approached by a lady from Indonesia after one of the shows and she asked me to put together a cowboy stunt show on a mountain 2 hours drive out of Jakarta. I thought..."why not?"
That show was blessed with some of the best stunt performers in Australia..oh and me. Glen Boswell ( who has been the stunt coordinator on just about everything including The Thin Red Line) Zelie Thompson, Michael Corrigan and Shea Adams.
The short version is that on the back of the success of that show I toured 10 productions into Asia the following year 1997. I needed to quickly register a business and do those important administration things in order to run the business properly. So Ozworks Entertainment Pty Ltd is was and thankfully still is.
So what does ozworks do today?
Large scale outdoor arena based attractions has kept me very busy as you'll read all over this web site. There aren't many people producing these kinds of attractions probably because of the cost and the enormous work load but I tend to get many inquiries about them because of my knack of talking people into doing things.
Theme Parks also call when they would like someone to build a new attraction or re-vamp an old one. Training their staff to be more effective in their presentations and consultation on what needs to be done to improve existing attractions and shows. I currently have two permanent shows at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast and one at Underwater World.
I am currently rewriting the on-board announcements on board two of the world greatest transcontinental rail journeys. The Ghan which travels form Adelaide to Darwin and the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Perth. That project is very exciting and I am talking to hundreds of people across Australia extracting interesting stories from the towns that both trains travel through.
Other creative services that I and the team at Ozworks provide are; script writing, media releases, creative promotions, interpretive talks, event management, show calling, music production, artist management, entertainment bookings, vocal coaching and more.
Thanks for taking an interest in what we do.
