The 2010 Gold Coast Showgirl Quest
The search is on for the 2010 Showgirl and Showteen.
2009 Showgirl Jessica Simpson said "the show is important to people on the land because it focuses on the agricultural side of the community". Jessica says she chose to enter the Miss Showgirl Quest because she believed that with her knowledge from growing up on a property in central western Queensland would help her to contribute to the show.
As organiser Marj Belsham explains the Showgirls Quest is not about looks. “It’s not a beauty contest” explains Mrs Belsham “The focus is on young ladies wanting to boost their self esteem and confidence. It really is a great opportunity to network, meet new people, business representatives and dignitaries. Judges this year are looking for girls that have an engaging personality, charm and a strong sense of community spirit.”
The competition is divided into two main categories; Showgirl, which is open to ages 18-26 and Showteen which is designed for 14-17 year olds. The competition also includes the category of Miss Photogenic. Entrants must be residents of the Gold Coast.
Organizers of the Showgirl Quest are now taking enrollments for young women to be part of the 2010 quest.
The winners of Showgirl and Showteen will become official representatives of the 2010 Gold Coast Show at various functions including the official opening ceremony. The winner of Showgirl will also move on to the South East Queensland Regional Final and if successful will follow on to the Brisbane Royal Show for the Queensland Showgirl Title.

Entries accompanied by a colour photograph can be posted PO Box 204 Southport Qld 4215 or hand delivered to the Gold Coast Show office Parklands Showground on or before 4pm Wednesday 23rd June.
The Showgirl prejudging will be held on Wednesday 7th July at Parklands Showgrounds and the final judging will be held at Pacific Fair Shopping Centre at 11am on Saturday 17th July.
