Producers of this year’s feature attraction at the Moss Vale and District Show are searching for the stars of the 2007 feature attraction. “The Waltzing Matilda Story” staring Dennis Mudd as the Jolly Swagman will be performed each evening of the show at 7pm and is expected to feature over 400 local performers. This spectacular event will be a journey back to the time and place where our country’s favorite song was written by Banjo Patterson in 1895. It is also an enchanting insight to the mystical characters of the day. Including Banjo’s fiancée Sarah Riley and Christina McPherson who has been accredited to actually writing the tune to Banjo’s poem. Waltzing Matilda is the original FAIR GO story, written at a time in our history when we were the closest we’ve ever been to civil war. Some say that it signifies the establishment of the Australian Character and the birth of our great nation. For more information on this production go to "The Waltzing Matilda Story" page. The response from the 2006 Arena Spectacular has been terrific and organizers of the Moss Vale Show are very excited to once again offer this unique community based entertainment under theatre lights with concert sound where the locals are the stars of the show.
