LOCAL HEROES

Ordinary People doing Extraordinary Things!

Auditions and Hero Stories Registration Page

In history and legend heroes live, and, in literature and art.
We admire them on the TV screen, for, somehow, they stand apart.
We recognize the clothes they wear, and, of course, their “super powers”.
Their cool courage and incredible feats, entertain us for hours.

But, there are dinkum heroes among us, they have been there for years.
Like us, they live out their daily lives with similar hopes and fears.
They do not look so different, these ordinary women and men,
Recognition is difficult, until you must depend on them.

You find them at disasters, defying bushfires, or, raging flood,
Or patrolling sandy beaches, or, at the Red Cross giving blood.
Unselfish, ordinary people, on hand, meeting others’ needs,
But when Fate has done its worst, we know them by extraordinary deeds.

Content:

Each of the above service group will be acknowledged in song, dance, poetry, personnel accounts and with the aid of their own stylized involvement. We will also have the use of a Big Screen to project promotional footage and messages.

Short Film:

As part of the production a short film will be viewed on the Big Screen between segments that show young poeple in a car making bad decisions resulting in the driver loosing control of the vehicle and crashing. i.e, drinking, speeding, driving dangerously etc.

Big Screen:

Also on the big screen I will have brief interviews of men and women in civilian clothing who are mothers, wives, husbands, fathers, brothers etc. Ordinary people just like those watching.

Wow Factor:

At the end of the spectacular, after the car crash on the screen, we reveal the same car, wrapped around a pole in the arena. 000 is called and the rescue service teams begin thier work. All 2-way transmissions are broadcast through front-of-house speakers so the audience get to hear how structured, controlled and professionally the teams go about such a high pressure rescue situation.

Within that finale scene you will see;

  • School Child calling 000 and engaging emergency service crews
  • Police Co-ordinate scene
  • Police Dog search through crowd for driver of vehicle who has done a runner.
  • Ambulance crews administering care to the passengers.
  • Fire Brigade cut off roof of car to release trapped driver
  • SES control traffic and provide safety
  • etc.

While all that takes place the audience will hear a feature singer(s) singing uplifting songs like "The Prayer"
