This exciting production of "Phar Lap" Champion to a
Nation will be the feature attraction at the 2010 Gold Coast Show.
"Phar Lap will appear in the Main Arena each night of the
show at 7pm followed by the Fireworks at 8pm. This is the most ambitious
production that we have attempted to date. Phar Lap is an icon of the
Australian Horse Racing industry and all Australians recognize the 17.1h Chestnut Gelding as an Australian Champion succeeding against all odds.
The Phar Lap story has something in it for everyone and is
anticipated to be very popular with the local show audiences over the 3
performance nights. We are now looking for stars of the show on two
legs and four.
The climax of our story will be a re-enactment of the 1930 Melbourne Cup. So the
SEARCH BEGINS NOW for all the horses that ran in the cup including Phar Lap.
The Search for Phar Lap
If you have a chestnut thoroughbred horse that stands around 17 hands high that would be suitable for this production please fill out the form below and register your details.
Phar Lap as an ugly yearling is also being sourced for this production.
Apart from Phar Lap we will also need the other race horses that appeared in the 1930 Melbourne Cup. If you have a retired or active race horse that can be rehearsed in the re-enactment of the race and of course be controlled to run where it's directed then we'd very much like to hear from you as well. We will need at least 12 horses for the race re-enactment.
Fill out this form and you will be contacted shortly.
